Agency quotes vs founder price
12 May 2026 · 6 min read
Thousands upfront for a template, or £0 setup and £49/m managed. Let's put the quotes side by side.
You've probably had the quote from a local agency or web builder. Fifteen hundred to three thousand upfront. Then monthly hosting. Then "support packages". Then extras every time you breathe near the site.
For what? Often a template with your logo dropped in and stock photos of someone else's van.
What the big number buys
It buys their process. Discovery workshops. Moodboards. Two months of calendar. A project manager who emails you to ask what colour blue you meant.
They will call that strategy. Sometimes it is useful. Often it is delay with a fancy name.
It does not buy ownership of a fast custom stack. It buys their favourite starting point and a smile.
"Cheap websites are dangerous"
Agencies love that line. And they are half right. A throwaway DIY template with nobody looking after it is dangerous.
That is not what I sell. £0 setup and £49/m managed means I build it, host it, change it, and answer when something needs doing. Low price because I own the platform. Not because I cut the job short.
How I do it
£0 setup. Free preview. Founder price £49/m if you want it live. I build it, host it, change it when you email me. Support included.
No minimum term. If it's not working for you, you're not locked into a fairy tale contract.
I'm not anti-agency. I'm anti-faff.
If you want a brand film and a 40 page strategy deck, go pay for that. If you want a site that gets local jobs and stays out of your way, talk to me.
